Jordan and Listen, Lucy

April 17, 2023 marks 10 years since North Hills High School graduate Jordan Corcoran founded Listen, Lucy. The mental health organization aims to end the stigma associated with mental illnesses.

Jordan travels around the country sharing her personal story of her struggle with mental illness and the importance of acceptance of others and yourself, visiting North Hills Middle School and North Hills High School last October.

In celebration of Listen, Lucy’s 10th anniversary, Jordan visited McIntyre Elementary School where she read one of the four books she wrote “Little Lucy and the Little Butterflies” aloud to fourth graders. The book tells the story of a little girl who learns that it is okay to ask for help and talk about your feelings when you are struggling or feel scared.

April 17, 2023, was also declared “Listen, Lucy Day" in the city of Pittsburgh in honor of Jordan and the work Listen, Lucy does.

Jordan, a 2006 graduate of North Hills, is also a North Hills Distinguished Alumni for 2023 and will be honored by the district next month.
